Planning a highland wedding in Scotland? This limited edition ‘woad’ blue & grey check waistcoat is ideal for groomsmen, it celebrates Scottish island tweed woven by Ardalanish Isle of Mull weavers. We are proud to say our designs are also drafted, cut & constructed on the island. We believe in quality over quantity and embody artisan principles so only nine of this design will be made.
DESIGN DETAILS:
* Two smart and functional single welted pockets.
* We have been providing a made to measure service since 2011, two darts and an adjustable buckle at the back ensure a tailored slim fit for all.
* Five stag horn buttons are sustainably sourced from a local supplier in Loch Sunart, alternatively we can offer rustic coconut buttons.
* We only work with traditional & natural materials of the finest quality, we don’t cut corners and you can trust us to refuse any polyester / plastic fibres.
* Designed with the great outdoors in mind, we strive to create waistcoats for individuals who value timeless style and adventure.
THE FRONT:
Is a locally sourced artisan Scottish island tweed from Ardalanish Isle of Mull weavers mill. The mill restored and preserves remarkable Victorian dob cross looms which are now powered by the wind. The vivid blues in this ‘Woad tattersall’ are achieved using plant dyes cultivated in their on site dye garden and translate the colours of the island.
THE BACK:
Is a ‘loch blue’ lightweight organic GOTS certified cotton.
THE LINING:
We have selected is an exclusive cotton tana lawn from Liberty London. Blue ‘Thorpe’ is named after the artist John Hall Thorpe, whose early-1900s paintings inspired its dense floral layout. Drawn and coloured in 1968, its flourishing design evokes the classic style of ‘30s Liberty florals. Liberty’s Tana Lawn is a 100% light weight cotton with a silk like quality.
Or you can choose the ‘Atlantic blue’ organic cotton to match the back of the waistcoat.
