A charming hat with Edwardian style and precision detailed work. The free form elongated buckram crown is covered in pleated black silk shantung. Surrounding the brim is gathered an interfaced double layer of black lace. The back of the crown is accented with a ruffle of heavy netting trimmed in white silk shantung.
‘Blackie’ sits 2.5″ to the top of the crown and at the brim is 12″ wide x 14″ front to back length. The hat is securely attached to the back of the head by an adjustable elastic loop.
‘Blackie’ is a one of a kind handmade original design by Susan Komater of Komater Sisters. Sue took her inspiration from the historical in fashion and theatrical costume design. Her hats are impeccably fashioned with the best quality fabrics, notions and traditional milliner techniques.
