Silk Necktie “Navy and Rust Stained Glass”, Hand Painted Silk Necktie

This one-of-a-kind necktie was hand painted using only two colors–blue and rust-orange, which I mixed into gradations to get all the hues you see in this piece. The resulting colors include light navy, rust, taupe, and many blends of colors in between.When I was finished painting in the dyes inside the abstract white lines I drew in using gutta resist, the piece reminded me of stained glass.
I start with plain white silk charmeuse, dye the fabric, and send the pieces to be professionally custom sewn for me.

This tie is approximately 56″ long and 3-3/4″ at the widest point. I recommend dry cleaning in order to maintain the original shape of the tie.
